My interview with Marlena Łukasiak,Artistic Director and Producer of Polish Film Festival Kinoteka, as the festival opens for its 17th year in London. The festival spans a time period covering Poland’s accession to the EU and Britain’s current Brexit turmoil. It also marks a period of great change in both the Polish and world-wide film industry.
Earlier this year I was awarded a bursary to join the Decorative Arts Society on their research trip to Hungary. On November 10th 2018, I presented at the Sotheby’s Institute on some of the highlights of this rich and incredible visit.
I am delighted to have started a new role as Lecturer in Fashion Visual Cultures at Middlesex University, teaching contextual studies to students in Fashion Design, Fashion Communication & Styling and Fashion Textiles.
Thanks to funding from Nottingham Trent University's Global Heritage: Science, Management & Development Seed-Corn (Early-Mid Career) Research Fund, we were reunited with the members of Dr Hui-Ying Kerr and I's panel for the Los Angeles CAA 2018 Conference to continue our re-examination of methods by which post-war cultural practices have negotiated ideas of centrality.
